  1. going dark. some quiet time away from bluetwit, email, interwebs, twitter. Just some code and some music. laterz!
  2. gullible responder, lucky story or creative marketing, whatever the actual story behind this, the end result is great: http://bit.ly/77xpUw
  3. and there goes metaplace: http://www.massively.com/2009/12/21/metaplace-announces-january-1st-shutdown/
  4. Makoto Shinkai coming out with a new flick: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-12-21/distant-star-makoto-shinkai-outlines-next-work
  5. :) backups/restore public service announcements from @codinghorror and joel: http://bit.ly/7uakrq http://bit.ly/8qQEZj
  6. @eric_andersen hmm, they're good, but none seem compelling for twitter to develop, purchase perhaps (like search).
  7. only 3 sec less daylight than yesterday. Time for the switch soon :)
  8. @perlausten I think I'm leaning towards NV+ or the NVX but not sure how to properly evaluate the feature sets for my use.
  9. @mfkne read up on the drobo a bit, the fact that is isnt really a NAS till you buy droboshare is a shame, otherwise it's tops in looks.
  10. @mfkne drobos look pretty cool :) Too bad my NAS's will sit hidden away under the desk :P But will have to look into it. Expandable is nice.
  11. @wpgrant :) definitely wanted the storage, but really wanted to start mirroring to prevent some fatal data loss I've experienced in the past
  12. @perlausten cool! I have the ReadyNAS Duo. I like the hacks you can do. Would love a NAS + Nettop combo. Something low server quality.
  13. hmm, instead of upgrading the disks in my NAS (2x500GB), I'm thinking I'll just get another NAS. Any suggestions #lazywebs?
  14. the beginning of the end. The twitter API begins to get standardized: http://is.gd/5sSrK http://is.gd/5sSsI http://is.gd/5sStB
  15. @clu101 : RT @EricaDriver: Forterra laid off 60% of its workforce. Remaining assets likely to be sold.
  16. @juannycinco definitely used do Vectors till Lists became available. Same with Hashtable to HashMaps. Rarely needed the concurrency.
  17. ugh, this code from another developer and I are just not compatible. I'm half beautifying, half recoding.
  18. @jimsink nice. good to finally see media integration move beyond static content in vws. next: full web rendering or AIR app integration?
  19. what's your goto Java List construct? I've been rather blindly just using ArrayList. Anything better or drawbacks? (#dc4 <- use this tag)
  20. i'm sure there's an important issue buried somewhere in these blog posts, but I just can get to reading all them words...
