  3. To the hot water tap, batman.
  4. "I lifted it up to close it" (which you have to do) "and it came off its hinges! Help!" So I helped, and now my hands are frozen.
  5. As I said that, there came a knock at the window. I ran out to check it out--t'was Fiona, with the gate hanging from just one hinge.
  6. It's like drawing with hands made of frozen sausages shaped roughly into fingers.
  7. COLD! SO COLD! THE HEAT DOES NOTHING!
  8. It's a thermodynamic anomaly.
  9. I know our heating is on--I can hear it burning oil out back, and the radiators are warm--but the air won't take the heat.
  10. For the rest of us, it's all frostbitten extremities and eating frozen corpses for the next few decades.
  11. I hear our leaders have spent the last couple of years funding a multi-trillion euro bunker under Copenhagen.
  12. Is the entire northern hemisphere covered in snow? Is this it? Have we finally done it?
  13. @aquafortis And I would share the pie, for it is delicious. The first and only thing I've baked in this decade...
  14. Backyard engineering might well be possible but it sounds like a euphemism.
  15. Backyard philosophy might work. And I know of a fella who lost his hands in some backyard chemistry.
  16. Some activities do not lend themselves to the back yard. For instance: backyard appendectomy. Backyard colonoscopy.
  17. You can have backyard astronomy and backyard wrestling, right? Two professions that lend themselves to the back yard. But!
  18. As the pie was baking I did the dishes, and watched the snow falling out back. Serious amount of snow tonight. I had a thought, then--
  19. Everyone here in the Struthers-O'Donnell household agreed that it was a fine apple pie.
