  2. Last morning in Beijing. Favourite sights: Temple of Heaven, Great Wall, Lama Temple.
  3. Veg travelers: When in doubt, head to one of the Supreme Master's restos, like Loving Hut on Dongdaqiao Lu in Beijing. Salty but good.

  7. @jesswakeman @yelp_vancouver We've got 2.5 more days in Beijing. Going to Great Wall and Ming tombs today. Enjoying it here.
  8. Beijing subway system is great: cheap, easy to navigate, relatively clean. They do scan your bags before you enter though.
  9. Holy shiznit. If you go to Beijing, have dinner at Pure Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant. It may be hard to find, but it'll blow your socks off.
  10. @MainAndPender We went up the Bell Tower today. I enjoyed the steep staircase. The Lama Temple with its 18-metre Buddha was an awesome sight
  11. The Hall of Prayer for a Good Harvest at Beijing's Temple of Heaven is the most beautiful building I've ever seen
  12. @why_yy We went to Snack Street during the day. It was definitely a sight. And we didn't eat anything.

  14. Was wondering why Beijing's Silk market was full of Euro/Americans. Turns out it's where tourists go to buy fake brandname goods. Lame.
  15. No photos allowed inside Mao's tomb. His face was lit so bright it looked like it was glowing. Takes 2 security checks to get in.
  16. In Beijing, smog greets you inside the airport and buildings, using a crosswalk is perilous, and a taxi is scarier than a thrill ride.
  17. Just 10 hours till we land in Beijing. First, we have to take off. #yvr http://twitpic.com/oinyh
