  1. Found urban salmon stream 'ship creek' - lots of fishermen, tons of salmon - good way to spend the afternoon ;-)
  2. 11pm flight tonight, so I've got the day to kill in anchorage after the bikes are packed up - any reccomendations?
  3. Boarding train from denali to anchorage, looking forward to the 8 hour ride, the adventure is over, now the slow boat home
  4. Saw grizlies, moose, caribou, but mt mckinley did not show itself through the clouds - maybe tomorrow before the train to anchorage
  5. Great bus system one you have a backcountry campsite or lodge - the wildlife and views are amazing
  6. Impressions of denali changed a bit - the scale of this place is insane - the only way to experience the park is 3-4 days in the backcountry
  7. This place is not for bikes at all - to their credit, I think they have really good 'no car' camping options, but 4-6hr bus ride to the camp
  8. Really? You can't sell firewood at the actual campground because of a concessionaire's contract?
  9. Denali - the unwashed masses 'camping' in their rv's, the state and blm campgrounds we stayed in were much better
  10. Great biking, fishing, and time w/ bro - dbl-flatted, pinch flats, but in general good luck - alaska is quite amazing and the beer rocks
  11. Last few days awesome, weather wasn't great and lot's of smoke from fires - we biked past incredible alaskan views, but couldn't see them
  12. First time in cell coverage for days - outside the entrance to denali np - beers, pizza at the glitter gulch - biking into denali tonight
  13. Incredible fly fishing - caught a fish every 3rd cast - saw tons of beaver - amazing views of glaciers - free wifi in the middle of nowhere
  14. Woke to rain - this shakes things up a bit
  15. Great people, beautiful country, good food, good beer - good times!
  16. About 160 miles to bike over the next 5 days - gravel, grades and pulling a load - lot of work to come, but now more reasonable
  17. Way to optimistic on daily mileage - hitched rides with great folks who gave us fresh caught salmon - made for a great meal - thanks pj!
  18. Phillip snores
  19. great folk here in ak, rv stopped to help w/ flat tire, matanuska glacier tomorrow, need to make up some lost time
  20. Long day in the saddle, late start, flat tire, lot's of climbing, construction, rain - great day :-) grabbed a cheap hotel to avoid rain
