  16. TIMELINE: 5:54: Twitter feeds all citing TMZ. It took another 30 minutes for news orgs to say coma, and then, ultimately, death.
  17. At 5:54p, looking up from Twitter, I gasped out loud on the subway: "Michael Jackson died." No one had heard yet. Lots of gasps.
  18. "Sanford & Sin" gets my vote for clever headline (Slate, MSNBC) - but doesn't work for those who've never heard of "Sanford & Son"
