  1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik... Have to wonder if anyone seriously registers business websites in the Cook Islands!?
  2. Woah, logged into my blog after 2mo (yes, silent too long..), found more new comments than in previous 1.5yrs; what happened?
  3. Google Maps Nav design clearly by US (CA?) team; better if it was out of US, eg EU or NYC [sic]. Not chance TomTom Navigon etc are European.
  4. Installed Google Maps update on G1: Navigation indeed a bit beta in NYC, but otherwise: byebye Garmin! Very nice!
  5. These days, baby is born, parents post it as status update on FB, and people click "like" in lieu of congratulations. Simple! :)
  6. RT @DSpinellis: Funny: a c ustomer's review of The Story about Ping http://bit.ly/6AzrZi
  7. @jimeng Really? Had minor issues w/ Dreamhost server, but tech support responded quickly (and at least it was really *tech* support!)
  8. Finally replaced fried Grandstream 286 with a Linksys PAP2T for phone at home (using Gizmo5 / Google Voice, of course).
  9. @robertobayardo Well, dont' have hard data and sometimes pesky updates ( = reason for reboot) do come more often, but that's my impression..
  10. Seems end of mayoral elections is to NYPD traffic cops as rain is to mushrooms; except mushrooms disappear again shortly thereafter.
  11. What's the big fuss about boot time? These days I always just suspend and reboot or hibernate just once a month or so.
  12. Saw #ChromeOS webcast: basically, Google's flavor of a fastboot OS (but w/o dualboot). So what? Not for me, I guess.
  13. No more closet-to-office cable runs: reflashed old WRT54G v6 with DD-WRT, running in client bridge mode. Nice! Why isn't this std feature?
  14. http://bit.ly/hSna2 An IBM technology worth getting excited about.
  15. Facebook is to the "social web" what Compuserve (or dialup bboards for those of us not in the US) was to the web; unless it opens up more.
  16. @jimeng So, competition has to suck more, not Lotus Notes less? Or, vice-versa, u think would Lotus Notes would suck less for consumer? :)
  17. http://bit.ly/2nNwYK Google Latitude now has location history (and alerts). Finally! This should be useful; can also export to KML.
  18. http://bit.ly/1SXj0Y Oh great, yet another mobile OS (sporting corporate-speak buzzwords "platform" and "ecosystem"): Samsung "Bada". Why??
  19. http://bit.ly/9Q6o2 Google buys Gizmo (rumor). Why am I not particularly surprised?
  20. Mr Ozzie may have a point after all that Google Wave runs risk of being Lotus Notes of 21st century: great protocol, UI not so much.
