  1. @hogletk our local organic veg grower has just come back from Aus - he was telling me how terribly hot it is with you. Hope you're coping
  2. making the 'casserole of artichokes and pork for deepest winter' from Nigel Slater's latest. Smells delicious with the lemon, fennel & onion
  3. @msla mayonnaise or Aioli - with homemade you can use healthier oils like olive or canola. Or homemade custard (& from this ice-cream, yum)
  4. @KathrynElliott I must admit I chucked my preserved lemons. Didn't follow the instructions, put lots of olive oil in then got botulism-angst
  5. such a good idea - a simple tahini and herb sauce to brighten up steamed vegetables http://ow.ly/DP7Z
  6. @Elle_Ann literally! I've been gardening today & one of the chooks (Eva) kept creeping up behind me and pecking me on the bum! Hope yr well
  7. seasonal nutrition via @Elle_Ann "Fight H1N1 with a Healthy Diet" - a dietitian's tips on boosting your immune system http://is.gd/4Xlcr

  12. I want to read: First Light by Joe Cornish - http://bit.ly/3bHdoh
  13. uk motorway services are notoriously rubbish for food. Breaking our long car journey with a thermos of pumpkin soup and leftover frittata
  14. boy doesn't believe me that the salad was all odds & ends from the garden ( chard, parsley, spinach, lettuce & nasturtium leaf)
  15. RT @RedefiningDiet: RT @greengrapesblog: Study: Eat whole foods; be happy! http://tinyurl.com/yc99rtd
  16. like the flavours in this brown/wild rice porridge (hazelnut, maple, blueberry), though I'd definitely skip the cream http://ow.ly/zjuw
  17. @Elle_Ann learnt lots at the veg growing course I did yesterday. I'll try to write some down when I get back from my hols to share with you
  18. @Elle_Ann the hens have gone to stay with a lovely family who have 21 other pets already. They won't get bored, that's for sure!
  19. just packed up my chickens with their PJs and sleeping bags to go and stay with a lovely lady down the road while we go on holiday
  20. @ang_w hope it works well, I like baking with spelt flour. It's not quite as light as normal flour but more than makes up for this in taste
