  3. @christinefarmer thanks for your referrals!!
  4. @typoretum ... risk then is they emerge b4 spring is properly establd - cold makes them unable to fly and feed & they use up energy waiting
  5. @typoretum if in an out-building (shed or garage) that gets direct sunlight & warms up over several days they may believe temps are stable.
  6. @typoretum I know my bees become active @temps > 14°c so to avoid them emerging too early do not place near a 'greenhousing' window
  7. @typoretum they can withstand the freeze (blood is glycol-based) so timing is a question of how insulated the homes are to extreme weather
  8. @typoretum - if you don't mind my contrib, I'd suggest that winter yr solitary bees in place that's not humid & not in direct sunlight

  14. @christinefarmer Where is the precisely is the leafcutter bee cell? Can it be separated from the plant and be stored in a cool place?
  15. @christinefarmer Hi, no problem bringing plant in to avoid frost-damage, but if room is too warm (13°+) bee may emerge too early.
  16. @eternalmagpie not sure I can, but I have seen a few ground bees with similar thick yellow orange legs... was this a July sighting?
