  1. Good cup of coffee, good book, good company. I am thankful.
  2. @stevecunningham The problem with the kindle for me is how easy it is to buy books. I use mine sparingly, like for travel.
  3. Many of the academic articles on career development strike me as silly. Just read one that didn't; will send the author a note later.
  4. Don't let last year's rejections keep you from applying to this year's jobs and internships. You're a better candidate now.
  5. Law school news: one of my applicants just got accepted to Harvard law; another just got rejected, then un-rejected by the dean, from UVA.
  6. Wow. RT @kevinokeefe Duty to Twit. Obstruction of police by failing to twitter is basis of NY charges http://bit.ly/8TcpfD
  7. A bird in the hand is not always worth two in the bush. Just talked to a senior who made a good, hard decision to decline a job offer.
  8. @KellyLux It makes video so easy. Eager to hear what you think of the Flip camera.
  9. Still mild enough to drink am coffee outside.
  10. Tonight's commute home set a couple of records for my carpool: most f-bombs, most uses of the word 'sconce'. Possibly most laughter.
  11. What a week! Full to bursting with interesting conversations, smart people, hard good writing to edit, and new questions to answer. Pooped.
  12. Cool. RT @BatesCollege News: Singer-songwriter Josh Ritter coming to Bates http://bit.ly/8L4r64
  13. Interested in history? The Society of History in the Federal Government's website lists internships: http://ow.ly/DHMo (via @clairejkUpenn )
  14. @UOCareerCenter Cool -- thanks for the info. Willing to do a phone date to teach me how to bring that great idea to our campus?
  15. Your thank you note matters. A good one can leave people with a strong impression or defuse mistakes. A bad one can leave advocates cold.
  16. Sooo ready for drinks, good food, and laughing with pals tonight at El Rayo (aka @tacotweet).
  17. Leading a workshop in the computer lab: how to find & apply for federal jobs. USAJOBS.gov, watch out!
  18. @ceonyc I didn't know what to say. Everyone's written materials can be better. This is the first time I've made no suggestions.
  19. I just did the unthinkable. I told a student that his personal statement was great; didn't need any changes. He's a physicist who can write.
  20. Hear hear! You (and 60,000 Others) Have Taken the LSAT. Now Read This. WSJ http://bit.ly/1YG6gL
