  7. Last 4 weeks: repaired a garage door, installed a new kitchen faucet, repaired a step, & raked my lawn. It's like I'm a real homeowner.
  8. The pile of papers grew manageable, so naturally I ignored it and worked on something else.
  9. Aside from the piece that looks like it could snap at any moment and kill bystanders, I just fixed the garage door!
  10. It's funny how simply nagging kids to come after school & do their missing work works. At least for the ones who kind of care.

  12. The art of surreptitious note-writing appears to be lost. Students are too busy texting one another to drag out a pen & paper.

  15. Toast from homemade bread & a cup of black coffee.
  16. Potato and vegetable soup with homemade bread.
  17. Pear bread.
  18. iTunes needs too many updates.
  19. Heard a movie begin in a nearby classroom & almost said aloud, "Ah, the sound of education."
  20. Gotta teach, but I'm mostly in the mood to swap tall tales. I suppose if I tie that to some state standard we could make it happen. . .
