  1. Trying to sort out some of the hoarded junk in our makeshift office/spare bedroom. For tangled wires and old bits of paper there is no equal
  2. Lying on my back in a v. cramped corner painstakingly, a quarter of a turn at a time, bit by bit , WD40 by WD40, releasing encrusted nut
  3. embodied mind: action words and relationship with motor cortex of the brain. Any references?
  4. Finally changed stubbornly stuck leaking tap...only problem - put in hot instead of cold - no plumber's putty. Will do for now.
  5. @jvw: I'll be looking out for you on TV in the Wimbledon crowd!! ;-) Went there in the hot Summer of 76'
  6. Needed to re-download Windows installer, work out how to stop windows SP 3 from stalling, get TuneUp finally working, get rid of error mes's
  7. After four days and many hours I think I've finally sorted out problems on my PC - just deletion of the prefetch file to fix (slows boot up)
  8. @R3beccaF: Hope you mend quickly. It's a pain in the ass not being able to do what you want to do and feeling immobilised.
  9. Longer - Clarrissa Remembrance of things past (or is that more than one novel). Not read either but know the madeleine cake anecdote.
  10. Near end of Miserables (about 50 pages to go). One of longest books I've read. Slightly shorter than War and Peace and Lord of the Rings.
  11. Enlizement or to be enlized not in the OED but in my copy of Les Mis. Death from quicksand or in this case sewage silt/sludge sucking you in
  12. listening to brilliant springsteen performance
  13. Wow day in the life performed by neil young.
  14. Neil Young another of my favs
  15. Enjoying specials at glastonbury on tv. Love two tone. Beat were very good but not around to my knowledge.
  16. Raining cats and dogs and slugs no doubt. Typical Glastonbury and Wimbledon weather but good for allotment. End of June always wet.
  17. @dougclow: apparently 50% of the world's twitters were on MJ since last night to this am.
  18. Grrr! car costs for MOT escalating. Why don't garage people have any customer service skills, grunt and seem to be in a sleep deprived state
  19. Grrr! TuneUp installed OK on my laptop but would not on PC - 'window installer service could not be accessed' error message.
  20. @anesa: Happy birthday!
