  1. On Vacation. When I get back, it's time to launch. This will be my last vacation for a while, I think.
  2. It's amazing how many tools I need to master to do this one-man-band thing. Today? Back to Photoshop to update the logo with a "beta" tag.
  3. Site's back up. Enjoy!
  4. Site's down. Scrambling to get it back up.
  5. @Slicehost barfed. Site's down. Scrambling to get it back up. Appreciate your patience.
  6. My wife didn't quite know what to say when I told her I daemonized all the servers this afternoon.
  7. @davec004 Can I put it next to my Times Company Digital shares from 1999?
  8. Ok, site's back up. Thanks for your patience!
  9. Taking down the site to upgrade the memory on some of the machines. Should be back up by the end of the day.
  10. In the middle of some ugly weirdness. Please excuse, if you happen to be on the site.
  11. Hacking the live site at the moment. Steve McConnell would not be happy with me.
  12. Nothing like an intermittent crash to make things smiley during the morning. At least crash reliably, dammit.
  13. It's really a joy to be working in pure Ruby again, after a few weeks dealing with HTML/CSS/JavaScript. Everything just flows.
  14. Too many sites out there don't realize the benefits of the full-text feeds. If it's on purpose, then they're only hurting themselves.
  15. I tweaked the way I canonicalize urls. There may be a spate of duplicate links in the next couple of days. It'll clear itself up by Friday.
  16. I feel bad for poor GoogleBot. It keeps trying to index my pages and getting redirected to the Coming Soon page: http://serendeputy.com
  17. Ok, done with IE6 for a while. I have improved it to "not embarrassing." That's about as far as I'm willing to go.
  18. I can't believe I'm spending today writing hacks to target IE6, written in 2001. Memo: Corporate IT groups: Please upgrade.
  19. Excellent set of thoughts on reinventing MySpace: http://bit.ly/6jaIS
  20. This is exciting. I'm starting into the final fit and finish pieces. We're getting closer to launch!
