  1. @jzb: It's kind of disappointing that Mozilla doesn't promote XUL as a platform. Lots of lost opportunities.
  2. I keep finding more reasons to like Thunderbird 3: http://is.gd/52oyc (via @clarkbw)
  3. As foretold in prophecy, Ars writers will converge this winter to unleash arcane forces of ineffable editorial power. Ars: The Gathering.
  4. Compiling ChromeOS so that I can do some hands-on testing.
  5. Problem solved! Setting AutoAddDevices to False in xorg.conf still works, but you have to install the xserver-xorg-input-kbd package.
  6. Setting AutoAddDevices to False in xorg.conf doesn't seem to work anymore in Karmic. I shouldn't have to spend hours making this shit work.
  7. I despise Xorg input hotplugging. It misdetects everything and makes it hard to override its broken defaults with an xorg.conf.
  8. It's a pity that Qt 4.6 and Qt Creator 1.3.0 won't be in Karmic. Does anybody know if there is a good Qt PPA with the latest stuff?
  9. I had an awesome and really productive week at #uds, but it's great to be back at ~/.
  10. @mark_k: I originally intended to include a section about Kubuntu, but I ran out of time. I'm still hoping to do a follow-up article
  11. The #uds session about the Launchpad API is great. The hands-on code examples are a nice introduction.
  12. @oldmanuk: I'll be blogging about it later this week after the second Gwibber session. Gobby: desktop-lucid-social-from-the-start
  13. @directhex: not yet, but that's on my list of high priority bugs.
  14. Very productive day at #uds. Gwibber session was great! I also spent some time with the design team this morning to get UI ideas.
  15. @shanefagan: I'd like to be able to allow the user to see messages from people in their vicinity, for example.
  16. At the #uds GeoClue session. I'd like to use GeoClue in future versions of Gwibber to support BrightKite and other location-aware services.
  17. Landed in Dallas. Waiting to get off the plane.
  18. Boarded airplane at BUR. Heading to Dallas for the Ubuntu Developer Summit!
  19. @Gojohnnyboi: I'm not entirely sure for an MBP. Ubuntu works great on my Mac Pro tower. You can get more info here: http://ur1.ca/08bj
  20. @esh: It looks like we are going to be on the same flight from Burbank to Dallas. Do you want to share a cab to the hotel?
