  1. @miyagawa Re: laptop HDs, avoid Fujitsu like the plague. Chinese Seagates suck. The Maxtor merger hosed Seagate. Buy Western Digital.
  2. "Health care reform means less money for insurance companies. Thus, less money for the GOP. We should pass this bill for that reason alone."
  3. Obviously I need a NewTek VideoToaster Flyer for the Amiga 3000 to do digital non-linear video editing on my PXL-2000 movies.
  4. Well, I own a vintage PXL-2000 camera. Soldered on composite out, removed the infamous blue square, ordered new belts.. btw, rule 34 applies
  5. Flying to MN in the morning for T-day. Hoping to get my Illuminati on, hit Chatterbox, etc. #fb
  6. RT @chromatic_x: The Risk of Being Undone: http://www.modernperlbooks.com/mt/2009/11/from-novice-to-adept-the-risk-of-being-undone.html ...
  7. @sungo Yeah. TBAG = Tempe Bike Action Group. It's a classy organization. We pass out stickers to children at public events.
  8. getCookieDomainRewriteMode(). Okay, Zeus.
  9. I did something I've been meaning to do for a long time -- hook TinyWiki up to TinyMCE.
  10. I narrowly avoided being elected to the TBAG board. Next year, I'll try less hard not to be elected. Was fun.
  11. Had 2 power adapters for the new laptop so I ordered another. Got it as one of the two blew. Expensive habit...
  12. I59i746892 todo
  13. lw-dc2-core4-te9-1.rtr.<someisp>.com (209.<someip>.226) 4400.258 ms * 2535.287 ms ... my daily telecommute sucks.
  14. Installed and launched OpenOffice. Within moments, it crashed. On re-startup, it crashed trying to recover the null document. Epic suck.
  15. PS, I'm at Cartel Coffee. If any of you Phoenix peeps wind up here today, say hi so I can bite you.
  16. Spent about a grand on RAM, laptop HDs, power adapters, batteries for new-used laptop and spare machines trying to keep the fleet running.
  17. Zeus and Nagios. More resume fodder that everyone wants now but as soon as I learn it, no one will want again. http://illogics.org is a joke
  18. Eg: Fun: programming assembly language. Not fun: guessing at work-arounds to bad code generation in broken compilers. Not fun: SOAP::Lite.
  19. Learning a low level interface is rewarding. Learning how to make a buggy, awkward HL interface drive a lower level one is not.
  20. Obsessed with high level interfaces, we make a lot of abstractions. No or bad docs it's worse than useless - one more layer of guts.
