  1. @tcarmody Definitely. One of the reasons I like it so much. The initial sheen fades a bit in S2/3 but they're really really great.
  2. @tcarmody In much the same way we can look to modernism for web/tech parallels, Mad Men does good things w/ the 'birth of late capitalism'.
  3. To savour the Mad Men season finale, it looks like I'll have to avoid Twitter for a while. Which is a polite way of saying "I hate you all".
  4. @ajrowley Which pumpkins album? Pices Iscariot and Machina. (Weird combo, I know.)
  5. Spent day painting bedroom of an absent family member to the sounds of Smashing Pumpkins and A-Ha. A fresh coat, atop the aporia of memory.
  6. A while back, @gfscott asked what the opposite of "FAIL!" was. The internet has now given its answer: http://succeedblog.org/
  7. Excited about Pan-Am Games. If the hype is any indication, they'll be the very best of flight attendant competitions. I'm sorry, what now?
  8. That show about jumping over sharks has totally Greyed its Anatomy. That's how that goes now, right?
  9. @ivortossell I think so. It's the hard drive you end up waiting for most.
  10. NYMag interview with Fucked Up's Damian Abraham shows just how awesome he is. http://bit.ly/2pRzy2
  11. Mad Men X-Men mashup, part 1. http://bit.ly/M7AMA (It's actually not bad.)
  12. @gfscott Yep. One of the 1st def'ns of blogging was "a list of links with personal commentary and asides". T.O. strangely late to the game.
  13. @gfscott Bingo! (i.e. in much the same way, link blogging predated this 'debate' by about a decade.)
  14. Toronto media folk are debating annotated link blogging. Awesome. Next up, hypertext as the future of fiction.
  15. @tcarmody Um, I love it? But we can't talk about this in Twitter. Snarkpost?
  16. Always reassuring to settle into a dimly lit Toronto bar and have a Broken Social Scene song come on.
  17. Help me out: why is there a hyphen in front of some of the numbers on the weather forecast? Some kind of typo?
  18. On certain days, God looks down and says "just get out there and show people who you are.". Then he says, "oh, btw - you're an asshole".
  19. Michelle Goldberg: A Feminist Case for the War in Afghanistan? http://bit.ly/2Ksntx
  20. @DougSaunders 'Thing Theory' is a, well, thing in critical theory. Bill Brown from U of Chicago sorta' started it (pdf) http://bit.ly/cWeKE
