  1. @mikebutcher At least you can tell they're serious BY THE CAPITAL LETTERS, right?
  2. @achitnis While I'm critical of some of their rhetoric, I feel like 37signals is pretty good about being on-message on their product pages.
  3. @macfergus Already have a couple of the features up and going. Kind of mixed reactions on the language at the moment.
  4. @markbao Was talking recently with @shaun510 about how I wish there were standard SAX-like parsers for JSON.
  5. Needed a break from some of the harder problems that are looming code-wise, so it's off to the Python bindings. Which means learning Python.
  6. I always thought the "Impressum" thing was dumb in Germany until I realized how hard it is to find the actual address for most US companies.
  7. @Fractality Yeah, I think you end up chaining them like that, but you're right, that does start to get a bit ugly.
  8. @Fractality e.g. function somethingAsync(callback) { otherStuff(); callback(result); }
  9. @Fractality Since you can pass functions as simple variables in JS, you can usually just pass your callback directly to the async call.
  10. Our connection here is so bad that I've started first downloading large files to one of our servers, running 'split' and then downloading.
  11. I have a warped sense of time. I read, "I was up until 5:00 a.m." and thought, "Hmm, that's not *that* late."
  12. Got to see my favorite bassist last night (Michael Manring) - hadn't seen him since about 2004 in Paris. Only were 25 people at the show.
  13. @Fractality I just use Freedom.app to get me in the groove; usually after about an hour I don't really need to block things anymore.
  14. @Fractality JSONP is pretty easy without a framework - I used it for our Wikipedia thing: http://is.gd/1veBu
  15. @macfergus Do you know the Berlin motto? "Arm, aber sexy." – "Poor, but sexy."
  16. Got notice that our SSL cert was up for renewal in 30 days. Relearned how to renew certs to find out we can *order* the new one in 30 days.
  17. "Journalist zu werden ist gar nicht so einfach." -> http://twitpic.com/9o84o/full
  18. New blog post, "Only 6 of the 20 largest software companies are in Silicon Valley" - http://is.gd/1ukzW responding to @fredwilson
  19. Americans don't seem to use LinkedIn like Germans use Xing. I'm not used to people from founders meetups not being in Xing / LinkedIn.
  20. I miss Berlin. Today needs some dancing in the park. Really, I believe at any point in time there should be people dancing in a park near me
