  1. Ah... the weekend arrives, bringing with it the sweet illusion of freedom.
  2. Would be nice if Amazon let you download the mp3s when you buy a CD. I like having the plastic artifact but impatient to hear new music.
  3. @carriehanson Lesson learned: Don't try too hard.
  4. Getting funky tonight: http://bit.ly/1eJ7X Kutiman!
  5. Dog twitters http://bit.ly/gxyK8
  6. RT @joshkornbluth Getting on the boat for Ellis Island. So far they've done a really good job of replicating the whole huddled-masses vibe.
  7. Also! What benefit is there in watering less than five minutes per zone in the hottest part of the day?
  8. Also: If you have an automatic sprinkler system, why not water in the recommended cool of the morning rather than the hot middle of the day?
  9. People around here are quite the scofflaws about observing even/odd day watering restrictions. (Maybe more like: scoffcityordinances.)
  10. TiVo wish lists have been paying off lately, recording for us "Waiting for Guffman" and several episodes of Dr. Katz.
  11. Resisted urge to broadcast live the fan drama, including sweaty attic work to install metal mounting box. Now: basking in the achievement.
  12. Did something dumb yesterday: bought ceiling fan for office. However, install proceeded smoothly if slowly, and now I have a ceiling fan!
  13. Runner's knee (I hope) has me backing off. 30 minutes on elliptical and a meager 2 miles on the treadmill today.
  14. Back from camping, where I engaged in combat with suspected poison ivy. The ivy was assisted in its defense by squadrons of mosquitoes.
  15. Season 3 (part 1) of Entourage finally acquired from library!
  16. This is awesome, both the drawing and accompanying Jonathan Coulton: http://bit.ly/kxdCw "The Giant Squid (who just wants to be loved)"
  17. @scottros I'm afraid this is a lost cause.
  18. Saw a birdhouse earlier and wondered if birds have public policy debates about human-subsidized housing and allocation decisions.
  19. Home Depot compact fluorescents: $5 for one 75 watt, or $6 for a two-pack. I almost bought two individual lights before paying attention.
  20. Searching for advice on main() functions in Python, I found: http://bit.ly/3qLfo. Sounds plausible; who is the author? Oh, it's Guido.
