  1. Well, goodnight all. Thank you, @claytonius1, for the twitter conversation. It was enjoyable and thought-provoking as always.
  2. @claytonius1 Nice. Like, @nehmer24, I too would like to study Barth more so I'll have to check out those suggestions.
  3. @nehmer24 Are you doing grad stuff at Wheaton too?
  4. @claytonius1 I'm looking forward to my senior seminar next semester. It's all on Edwards' theology!
  5. @claytonius1 I can appreciate both, though I'm definitely closer to Edwards on most things.
  6. @claytonius1 I've read "End" as well as various sermons and I've read excerpts from Barth's Dogmatics.
  7. @nehmer24 @claytonius1 I wrestled in middle school. It's the only way I can get through theological/philosophical issues!
  8. @claytonius1 why I don't think that that necessarily requires God to create. Man... now I'm distracted.
  9. @claytonius1 And THAT would be a problem. I know that Edwards and Bonaventure would certainly say that isn't the case, which is one reason..
  10. @claytonius1 If God is required to create because it's in his nature to create, then it seems that in some way God was lacking pre-creation.
  11. @claytonius1 I know this just keeps the convo going, but where do you come down?
  12. @claytonius1 It's ok. I've seen plenty of long convos going on before, so at some level, we're ok. I dig it.
  13. @claytonius1 See, I'm not sure that it does, but I'd have to do some more philosophical wrestling with it. I don't want to be incoherent.
  14. @claytonius1 Initially I would lean towards Edwards/Bonaventure, but I certainly want to protect God's freedom...
  15. @claytonius1 Hmm. I'll have to think about that one for a while.
  16. @claytonius1 The End to Which God Created the World!
  17. @claytonius1 I'm telling you, there are A LOT of parallels.
  18. On a side note, Bell's Amber is a fine, fine brew.

  20. Theology dork question - Does anyone know if Edwards read/studied any Bonaventure?
