  1. First RBP blog post from me in a *long* time, it even has a callcc example (http://is.gd/51mOZ)
  2. @tkareine: API design is one of my favorite topics, so it's one of the parts of RBP I like the most too. Glad you liked the book!
  3. Why you should contribute to open source: http://bit.ly/3exDlK
  4. But of course, for those who like both, and also like "The Well Grounded Rubyist" you may want to check out thecompleatrubyist.com :)
  5. @fmcauley: Glad you're enjoying Ruby in Practice, but it and RBP have totally different goals, so they don't compare well.
  6. @Cadwallion, let me know what you think once you've had a chance to dig in.
  7. @ErrantWanderer: I trust O'Reilly's judgment here about profitability. The folks at AW are nice, but I'm not really looking to shop around
  8. @edavis10: Not wild on the self publish route, didn't work well for Ruport book (ruportbook.com)... Also, @oreillymedia has been great.
  9. @edavis10: I'd need to write it first, but @bradediger and I are considering our options. Ebook is one, training events are another.
  10. @edavis10: Something along the lines of: http://pastie.org/636666 (+ something about deployment).
  11. Based on RBP's sales (neither horrible nor great), O'Reilly is not likely to print "Industrial Strength Ruby". Ebook an option. Thoughts?
  12. @shinzui: ah, that *does* sound shiny. Thanks for letting me know.
  13. @shinzui, haven't used rak before, I'm not perl-averse so ack does the job for me. But good to know that there is a Ruby alternative
  14. Life (or at least an hour of it) saved by ack today ( http://betterthangrep.com/ )
  15. Awesome, Masayoshi Takahashi just informed me that he's involved in the project to translate RBP to Japanese.
  16. Wow, Reia is really great. Still very young, but I definitely am going to investigate more. http://is.gd/4lqyW
  17. @fringley: Maybe you should write the second edition, then. :)
  18. RT @compleatrubyist: Use discount code TCR5PLUS to get 10% off for groups of 5+ for @compleatrubyist training http://is.gd/42Hgu
  19. Finally into Google Wave, thanks @kmsolorio
  20. Caliper is awesome. A chance to use metric_fu for the incredibly lazy. http://devver.net/caliper
