  1. PC World is making a list of the best Windows tips of all time. Any candidates you'd like to suggest?
  2. @leighno5 Yeah, I opted for the 80GB Intel X25-M G2 SSD for that very reason. All the speed, half the storage and cost.
  3. @jesster_king Those are exactly the questions I'm seeking to answer. I think I'll do the upgrade, if only to learn if it's worthwhile.
  4. Thinking about replacing my netbook's hard drive with a 128GB SSD.
  5. @OrangeBlossomer Go, Chie, Go!
  6. Underwhelmed by Chrome OS? That's Kinda the Point. http://bit.ly/78HLIJ
  7. Google Chrome OS on this week's PC World Podcast. http://bit.ly/4vtm0a
  8. @MinaXavier Right now it's a long stretch from Ubuntu
  9. @MinaXavier Well, it's still pretty early alpha, and won't be ready for release for like a year. You have to actually compile it yourself.
  10. @dtnick Well, it's really slow in my virtual machine. I'll bring it in and show it to you tomorrow.
  11. @ScepticGeek I should clarify that MY build is slow as hell. The one Google demoed today was pretty snappy.
  12. @ScepticGeek It's neat, but slow as hell and not very useful yet. Wish I could figure out how to adjust the display resolution.
  13. Well, I've got Chrome OS running in a virtual machine. Interesting, but very rough still. http://twitpic.com/q7639
  14. @brax4444 No, I hadn't seen that. I'm about to convert my build into a VMware image right now. If it doesn't work, I'll check out GDGT's.
  15. Taking a stab at building Chrome OS from source on my Ubuntu machine. http://bit.ly/3558bS
  16. @Old_Nick It's still free, but you have to trade all of your personal data for a single glass.
  17. Oh, man, that Google Kool-Aid is mighty tasty! http://bit.ly/2fDy1y
  18. At the Googleplex, waiting for the Chrome OS announcement to start.
  19. @williamsonday There will always be plenty of nerdy, powerful distros around. But I think the road ahead runs through Google Country.
  20. @GaryArmstrong I think WebOS is awesome. Palm is its biggest problem. If Palm got out of the hardware business, WebOS might have a shot.
