  1. Landed in Faro.
  2. On board TP1917 to Faro.
  3. Landed in Lisbon.
  4. On board TP927 to Lisbon.
  5. At Zurich airport. Luggage checked in. Still have time for a coffee before boarding.
  6. I hate packing. I really do. But I'm finished with it. Just in time. Taxi to the airport is due to arrive in 30 minutes.
  7. Web checking in for tonight's flights to Lisbon and then on to Faro.
  8. Yesterday was a bit of an hectic day. Amazing how many things you need to do before you head off on holiday.
  9. Fedex has just picked up my DNA sample kit. My spit is on the way to the US. Now all I need to do is to wait 6 weeks for the results.
  10. The DNA sampling kit I've ordered from 23andme.com has arrived. Getting read to spit into the little tube.
  11. Booking a trip to Portugal for July 12-August 02. Off to the Algarve for 3 weeks. :)
  12. The great thing about virtual hosting servers is that you can wipe out the whole thing with a couple of mouse clicks.
  13. After three days of wrestling with a tomcat + java + mysql + swi-prolog webserver, I gave up on it - at least for the time being.
  14. Spent the whole of yesterday wrestling with an install of swi-prolog on a linux webserver. Gave up today. Asked support to do it for me.
  15. On the way to Zurich HB and then on to Bern.
  16. and surely that has left it's mark on anyone born in Portugal. It would be interesting to find out more.
  17. Considering doing a DNA test myself. Throughout history, Portugal has been a hotbed of different peoples (indigenous, invaders, colonised)
  18. Up and about for some time now. Spent the morning reading about genetic testing (DNA) and genealogy. Fascinating stuff.
  19. And speaking of dinner ... that's in the oven, with less half an hour to go: oven baked sea bream with herbs, olive oil and white wine.
  20. I've watched the whole first series and I'm way into the second series. I guess I'll finish that off tonight, after dinner.
