  1. It is snowing. We have run out of rock salt so are taking turns shaking our tiny fists at the sky.
  2. First snow--odd, tiny fakes, like icing sugar. Don't know whether to clear it with shovel or Swiffer.
  3. Winter is inhaling, drawing in the cold. It is expected to exhale on Saturday.
  4. @mrsubjunctive I think blizzards are like drinking. Everything's great until you've had too much. Then comes the hangover, a car in a ditch.
  5. A freshly-frozen pond makes everyone a caveperson. Must throw rock.
  6. Neat pictures of Short-eared Owl and other avians at Terra Nova by PSYL: http://tinyurl.com/yebaqlf
  7. A new interpreter story: The Lentil People http://tinyurl.com/ygvo23l
  8. First Christmas card came today--from Japan. Where the stamps Hello Kitty? Why, yes. They were Hello Kitty. Open the mailbox and smile.
  9. Christmas lights are up and blinking. I stand outside turning red-yellow-green-blue-violet.
  10. Only juncos at the feeder. They don't know it, but I consider them dross birds. They also don't care, as long as there is suet.
  11. Oh good, rain. No more annoying sunshine until Monday at the earliest.
  12. I rode my bike out the driveway and crashed into a fire hydrant and then a tree. My wife rescued me by smashing my helmet with a golf club.
  13. Varied Thrushes have come down from the mountains but are hiding. Why so shy? You'll go nowhere in the big city that way.
  14. BULLETIN: It is NOT raining. Repeat: NOT! Fellow mole-people, venture forth from your burrows and blink at the sky.
  15. Another inch of rain. The bus windows are steamy.
  16. An intense weather system is approaching the coast. Sick of those guys. Why not a laid-back system for a change.
  17. Long line of people lined up outside Richmond Public Health in cold, blowing, drizzly rain. H1N1 vaccine is more compelling than vampires.
  18. Raining, dark and grey, as usual. Craving Christmas lights. I'm gonna put them up early this year, even before the pumpkins rot away.
  19. @mrsubjunctive Yes. Plus I would feel guilty about the polyps.
  20. It isn't raining. It's like clinging to the carapace of a large, tolerant sea turtle.
