  1. Using InDesign CS4 to update our legal docs. New cross-reference feature makes it *much* easier to refer to Exhibits and Warranties.
  2. Nice way to install git manpages while skipping the xmlto headaches on Snow Leopard: http://www.jukie.net/~bart/blog/git-man-install
  3. “Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm” http://bit.ly/6Q3BHj
  4. Just finished reading "Pomodoro Technique Illustrated". Nice exposition and thoughtful sketches. Been trying it out with Minuteur.
  5. At the Joaquin Deli in San Leandro. Surprisingly nice. Haven't been in this neighborhood for 19 years
  6. Reorganizing Frontier as a collection of rails plugin-gems. SW design is getting cleaner as a result.
  7. RT @johnmaeda: Design is the act of neatly folding a pile of freshly washed laundry. Art is the freedom to get them all dirty again.
  8. @muirc Cool! We'll have to get together when you're in town.
  9. Just learned that "git stash" can move your changes out of the way so a "git pull" or "git checkout" can run. Neat.
  10. Finished putting together a nice set of demos for my company's Engineering management rails app. Ready to start showing it off to people.
  11. Really liking Evernote. The OCR analysis of uploaded images is neat. The desktop client makes adding them dead simple, too.
  12. RT @chadfowler: Code that's hard to monkey-patch is often not well organized. "What if someone had to change t (cont) http://tl.gd/q3ng
  13. Just drafted my product presentation for Frontier using Stephen Blank's excellent "Four Steps to the Epiphany". New demo almost ready.
  14. Got tired of forgetting which document/database/wiki/blog I put something in, so I decided to try Evernote. The Mac client is like Yojimbo.
  15. @pcoranje Yeah, we're blasting through stuff. Almost holding to the Oct plan. Lots of Frontier awesomeness coming up... :-)
  16. Finished automating the demo data for my company's web app. Much better than manually creating data and then dumping the database.
  17. Learning Motion 4 online. The UI isn't real intuitive, but maybe (as Maeda says) some things can't be made simple.
  18. Tried haml for the first time. Very concise. Felt like writing ruby in a python style. JavaScript worked, but it didn't look right in haml.
  19. It's nice when your software architecture just works when you do something new with it. It means you must've done something right :-)
  20. Pragmatic Programmer's epub integration with Stanza on iPhone is cool. Code indentation is a little off, but great for reading in bed.
