  1. Cross Crrek on Sat - Bald eaglesseen doing aerial courtship, tumbling and somersaulting with talons locked as they plummet toward the ground
  2. Cross Crk--current almost as fast as Silver R.! great paddling. Cattails & amaranth seeding. Lots o' goldenrod. Few red maples turnng color!
  3. Cross Creek sunset paddle--bald eagles have returned to start nesting. wading birds of all creed were lining the marshes. Marsh hens w babes

  5. Storm-eroded banks of Horse Island exposed lots of Deptford Indian pottery shards. No surprise since huge shell mound is only one mile away

  13. @vselley Santa Fe has plenty of water. A bit low between Hwy 441 and Hwy 27. From Hwy 27 down it's fine. W/ New rain should be even better!
  14. Trtles on Santa Fe seen recently climbing banks, digging holes and laying eggs. They make two chambers--one for decoy eggs for predators

  16. This wkend saw bald eagles on both Cross Creek and Santa Fe River tours. On Cross Creek, we saw nearly a dozen - mostly juveniles.
