  1. @alexhutton - we can talk later. I am really glad I do not have privileged knowledge of the chaos in your brain - seriously.. :-)
  2. @alexhutton - BTW - Happy Thanksgiving - very happy for you and yours - especially having a newbie kiddo...
  3. there will always be a TCOMM that is capable of overcoming RS, but TEF for that TCOM may be so low where it may not be an "issue"
  4. @alexhutton - not quite following your dependency between distributions remark - RS is in the context of threat population not TCOMM
  5. @alexhutton - I do not know if they have updated the public FAIR information with what is being taught in "pay for" training - 8-|
  6. @alexhutton - so to answer your question - no - I do not think FAIR assumes they are equal - but the human leveraging it could....
  7. I would also submit that some of the FAIR definitions have morphed in the last 12 months....
  8. @alexhutton - apples are being compared to oranges (human / technology threat capability vs. resistance strength)
  9. @alexhutton - um, well..... the fact we are measuring a % in both cases, I think it works - i think an argument can be made that....
  10. all I have to say is that RiskAMP, the BetaPert distribution, VBA and Excel - are life savers - now if I can learn to optimize VBA code....
  11. today - on my day off - I began developing a model related to time it takes to work in a GRC-like app (risk issues, assessments, C&A etc...)
  12. @keith_12 - um, it is 21:38 - it is ok to not have motivation - relax brother! slow down...
  13. Am on "vacation" which means I get to sleep in until 7 AM. Thus, I am 10-7, the bed is calling, and so is my current read http://is.gd/5314H
  14. @shrdlu - these modeling people rock - too bad they helped cause the meltdown ;-)
  15. @shrdlu - most of the work is done. I just need to sanitize and share.... good stuff...
  16. maybe "part 3 of X:" in current risktical series
  17. I am not convinced that the Ponemon stats stand up to scrutiny. I see a blog post coming re: estimating cost per record in breaches...
  18. I do not feel guilty. Somewhat embarrassed by my bad grammar. By 9 AM tomorrow, my wife may be ready to kick me out of the door :-)
  19. Am now realizing that I am entering a whole new world of tech geekdom. At least their are metrics for efficiencies of grid computing :-)
  20. I am attempting to find some guidance / documentation on optimizing an Excel based risk model for DataSynapse grid technology....
