  1. @peterbromberg No just saying raw handlers are not good for any UI based stuff. Great for REST interfaces or services though.
  2. @jwcarroll ...while you churn and rebuild perfectly working components for 10th time you've switched 'platforms'.
  3. @jwcarroll Exactly. What bugs me about this is "the reinventing of the wheel" to roll in a different way aspect of all of this.
  4. @RickStrahl People who use an app couldn't give a rats ass which platform it runs under as long as ti works
  5. @robconery Not the way I've been using Webforms for years. I've always had rather light pages w/ Viewstate off.
  6. @peterbromberg FWIW, ASHX/Handlers are great for API stuff, but not for full UI related content.
  7. @peterbromberg Short Urls: You can use Routing for that. In fact the app I'm working on I built first with WebForms and routing - same urls.
  8. I tell you one thing tho: Working on MVC reminds me a ton of working with Web Connection of old in FoxPro. This takes me 10 years back.
  9. I guess this is normal. Understanding first - architecture later :-}. In the meantime I feel like a noob again.
  10. Slowly getting my head around ASP.NET MVC. Still having lots of conflict over where to put code and data for Views to work on.
  11. @jasonmauer /bird/ We had a deal!!! Oh wait, that was squirrels...
  12. “Blessed are the young for they shall inherit the national debt.” - Herbert Hoover
  13. Actually looks like the Trace issue is smething else. Same problem in another Web Forms project too. I get Object Reference not set.
  14. @wbm /scary numbers/ No kidding! This is a hole I don't think we can get out of without major disruption.
  15. @brixtonholloway Thx. First following up Pandora's Star with Judas Unchained which is Part 2.
  16. Hmmm... trace ouput no longer works in MVC pages?
  17. I wish there was an easier way to figure out series books on Amazon. Not the for the first time I've accidentally skipped a book in a series
  18. @brixtonholloway Haven't read that. But I love the tie in's to our current status quo and technology in this series. It'll be on my list...
  19. @wbm if memory serves the total obligations sit somewhere around $60 trillion.
  20. @wbm /debt/ Of course this is what the gov't reports officially. The real obligations (incl. Social Security and Medicare) are much higher.
