@Ingersoll I recommend the Nikon D40 DSLR. Currently around $450 at Amazon. Its 6MP, but has excellent low-light performance.

@ScottBourne I used the Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3 while in Tetons last week. The optical stabilization allowed for shooting handheld at 500mm!

@ScottBourne Comcast's set top box produces a grainy picture. The picture quality is much improved with better HW. I use a CableCard setup.
