  1. @carlmalamud With the same video format, I'm having zero problems, with video up to 6 hrs and 2.4GB (w/ mencoder, but same thing).
  2. @carlmalamud Ah, you have a pre-2007 Director's account! You're one of the chosen few who can exceed the 10 minute limit. :)
  3. @carlmalamud Did you get permission to put >10 min videos on YouTube? We had to move to Vimeo once Google Video was EOLd.
  4. Bills are already being filed for the 2010 session, which starts in just under 2 months. http://is.gd/4ZiCc
  5. Is anybody familiar with the viability of pseudostreaming video on S3? We need it on Richmond Sunlight.
  6. @paix120 I actually meant to post that in my personal Twitter feed but, yes, I did have to wonder!
  7. If you're interested in open gov't online, you should definitely be following @carlmalamud. #FF
  8. What laws went into effect today that you need to know about? The Department of Legislative Services is on the case. http://is.gd/1l4dW
  9. New feature: The avg. partisanship of bill copatrons charted on bills, to show if it's Rep. or Dem. leaning. i.e. http://is.gd/114fY
  10. New feature: Partisanship rankings using cosponsoring-based social networking metrics. It's really cool! http://is.gd/Qt3M http://is.gd/Qt4n
  11. YouTube can't handle long video, Google Video is shutting down. After lots of prep work, we're switching to Vimeo. http://is.gd/wcBe
  12. Session might be over, but things are still busy here. There's still hours and hours of video to encode and new analysis features to create.
  13. New feature: Tag clouds for every day's session, by chamber. Here's the House and Senate, for Friday: http://is.gd/hY10 http://is.gd/hY0X
  14. A new feature in beta: Daily legislative calendars. http://is.gd/htFU
  15. An uncommon perspective on the House: Del. Brink filmed the members of the chamber reacting to today's inauguration. http://is.gd/gDLJ
  16. Because sometimes you don't care about the bill number or the chamber it was filed in: Browse bills by topic. http://is.gd/giwI
  17. Photosynthesis now has Ajax-based comment editing. Let everybody know where you stand and why—comment on those bills! http://is.gd/geMs
  18. The average visit to RS this week has been 5:30 in length, an eon for a website. Most visit are from Richmond, Charlottesville a distant #2.
  19. House Republicans agreed last week to provide video of sessions. We'll incorporate it into our site fully, naturally. http://is.gd/fCR7
  20. At long last, our horrible site design has been jettisoned for a proper one (courtesy of @boboroshi), and it looks far, far better.
