  1. Rare pre-festive calm - service sheets for Midnight Mass being copied at I type! Faculty forms filled in, funeral done - relaxation ahead?
  2. Too much work - a perennial cry. Feeling overwhelmed on a wet & windy Monday morning when I can't even see my desk for the work piled on it
  3. @goodinparts gone for Anglican Hymns Old & New - updated version of the orange one - I find Common Praise too trad - & we are a trad parish
  4. Back from retreat - great - & into PCC which was good. We're buying new hymn books - hurrah! I'm excited about the difference it will make
  5. Off to Diocesan Registry for a meeting on surrogacy, then two hospital visits , then best bit - my son is lead in a school play tonight!
  6. Going on retreat on Thurs - roll on Thursday I say.
  7. teaching 1st of 7 New Testament on Diocesan Certificate course tonight - always enjoy it but feeling scared of the time it takes up - help!
  8. Day off!! Day off! All day its my day off - feeling a bit happy about having a day off.
  9. I hate writing sermons for Remembrance - how to get everything in? So I'm off to do late night photocopying of service sheets instead!
  10. Just realised I'm out all day Saturday, fully booked today, day off tomorrow & without sermon for Sunday! Not sure what is going to give yet
  11. Great morning sorting out all the stuff that piles up in corners of my study. Sorted some important things that can get ignored. Lunch now
  12. time to write Remembrance Day service - we don't have a war memorial but we do the whole thing very fully.
  13. Not watched strictly yet - taped it but maybe tonight is the night to settle down and have a good watch?
  14. All Souls service finished - amazed how many people come to just this one service - its their annual church service so we make it a good one
  15. Quick collapse in front of tv before our All Souls service. Never a big crowd puller - we average about 50, but they really value All Souls
  16. Great 10am using hymns from proposed new book - they went down very well. I hope its a sign of good discussions ahead about hymns and change
  17. Time for bed after a good day. Lots of work, some photography, some family, some G&T, bit of tv - a day with balance is a rare beast in life

  20. All Saints sermon written, time for a slight diversion before I tackle the All Souls sermon. My brain isn't good at two sermons in one day
