  3. #iamthankfulfor Clean ears. A dry warm bed at night. A window to look out. Walks in the field. Peanut butter bones.
  4. #1 thing to do for a rescued dog: Give her a safe place (e.g a bed in the closet) she can go if she needs to gather herself.
  5. When new people come to visit I get a treat from my mom. Nice.
  6. Grass is scary for dogs raised in puppy mills. It feels weird on our feet and it moves in the wind.
  7. Just because you have a patch on one eye does NOT mean your people should dress you up like a pirate for Halloween.
  8. I have a microchip so if I get lost people can know where I live and bring me home again.
  9. I sniffed out 6 wild turkeys on our walk this morning. They flew up past me. I was so excited!
  10. Chilly morning. I wore my warm blaze orange coat on my walk. Before I was rescued I never had a coat...or a walk.
  11. I am laying in the sun with a peanut butter bone. Even if life was crummy in the past, life can be so good now.

  14. You can tell I'm happier now that I'm rescued because I walk with my head up, my tail up & a little bounce in my step.

  16. Rescuing a dog gives 2 dogs a chance: 1) the dog you bring home 2) the dog you made room for at the shelter.
  17. Newly rescued dog? Find out what she ate at the shelter. Switch to new food gradually (take 5 days) so she doesn't get diarrhea.
  18. Give your newly rescued dog a "safe place" she can go to be left alone when she needs space. A closet or under a bed works well.

  20. I figured out it's safe to shake off after my bath. It is so fun I do it lots of times. Also it gets the water out of my ears.
