  1. Augmented reality applications for government transparency. More AR data could reduce sleaze. My take - http://tinyurl.com/yk6attl
  2. Verizon makes you pay through the nose for new prepaid data plans. Not for consumers. UK's 3 has sane plans. My take - http://bit.ly/36n2SS
  3. Techies are slobbering over Nokia's upcoming N900 phone with Maemo 5 OS. Is the slobbering justified? My video - http://tinyurl.com/yhtljdg
  4. @Qarea51 I waited a long time for FiOS in my area. @KevinCTofel (jkOnTheRun) lives fairly far from Philly. He has FiOS. So don't give up!
  5. After 2 weeks of trying to get my phone # changed, and tweeting about poor service, @VerizonSupport got it done today. Thanks!
  6. @VerizonSupport = VerizonStinks. Offered to help with phone problem. Never replied. FiOS/phone agents incredibly incompetent.
  7. Got unlocked BlackBerry 9700. Modest evolution. 3.2 mp camera. Optical keypad so-so; keyboard smaller than Bold's. No T-Mobile 3G or UMA.
  8. Disney's "Keychest" for buying video from 1 source and playing it from many sources/devices. I suspect failure. http://tinyurl.com/yzxqv75
  9. I love it! H.P. Lovecraft would be proud. RT @GlennF: Where's the Cthulu chia pet? C-c-c-c-c-thoo-loo! Cah-thoo-loo!
  10. @ajkeen and Barnes & Noble prez got me thinking about "The Rise of the Author-Developer. Books need multimedia. http://tinyurl.com/yjdgjvl
  11. Should broadband Internet be a "right"? Finland thinks so. I'm online now to chat, based on my column about it - http://tinyurl.com/ykdftmk
  12. @ajkeen I'm positive most "books" will become mulitimedia (embedded audio, video), wireless updates. "Developers" for books. Adapt or die.
  13. @palmsolo - The Nokia rep said it's a matter of choice, and perhaps no "official" pronunciation. You say toMAYto, I say toMAHto.
  14. @palmsolo - Nokia communications/social media person says Scandinavians say MY-MO, but he (a Brit), says MAY-MO. Like NO-KIA, KNOCK-IA.
  15. @Verizon - I'm amazed at awful FiOS customer support. Lost and duplicate orders, incorrect order entry. No call back to change phone no.
  16. @palmsolo - Thanks for reply, Matt! I thought I heard Nokia execs say MY-MO, but I wasn't sure. I like the sound of MAY-MO!
  17. Hi @thenokiablog, @palmsolo or other Nokia expert....Is Maemo pronounced MY-MO, MAY-MO or ME-MO.? I think MY-MO, but want to be sure. Thx.
  18. Anyone seen statistics on what % of people watch the features on DVDs? I won't pay for downloaded movies because I also want the "extras."
  19. Pondering whether broadband Internet should be a legal right (as in Finland) or an optional service. Is it clean water or expensive wine?
  20. Mildly amused about PR for new "app store" selling 1 app, albeit for multiple phones. Like bookstore selling 1 book but multiple languages.
