  1. Fabric + Mercurial makes for a rather nice change control and deployment story. I do miss the dependency topo-sort from make/rake, though...
  2. When spam becomes almost beautiful: http://yfrog.com/jaxc1g
  3. @bleything: on the plus side, it should end up being something like 50 lines of Ruby, so it might not be a terrible idea. ;)
  4. @tlockney: Good to know. Like I said, I hadn't had time to really mess with it yet -- just finished the update a couple of days ago.
  5. @philtor: I did and wish I hadn't -- the backlight on my X40 doesn't come back after suspend any more. Haven't messed with xorg.conf yet.
  6. @brigleb: My problem is he's using old arguments. The Kindle 2 supports tables + monotype, and open formats work just fine w/OSS importers.
  7. @nicksieger: It's not local to the one repo instance, but the 'Network' graph shows branches & merges: http://github.com/jruby/jru...
  8. @dietrich: if I can extract it from the f'ed up legacy page that's causing it, I'd be happy to send a test case.
  9. For once, Firefox is causing me far more pain than IE or any of the WebKit browsers. Post-page-load image replacement is just *too* *slow*.
  10. @nicksieger: Just out of curiosity: why are you and @headius doing so much Windows Ruby development? Isn't the point of JRuby to avoid that?
  11. Cribbing a dish from Nostrana for dinner: braised cippolini onions, pancetta, & ricotta baked on crusty bread, drizzled w/balsamic reduct.
  12. @hollumns: Welcome! Soon, you too will be griping about loud kids next door and worrying about property values.
  13. I see Django's restriction on calling functions in templates as damage and route around it: http://gist.github.com/226331
  14. Testing custom Django template tags is a maddening task. Can we get a little love here, @djangopony?
  15. @ikai: I personally find Python's more annoying than useful, since it disallows multi-statement bodies. YMMV.
  16. Today is housekeeping day at work: replacing easy_install with pip, killing "clever" svn hooks, creating local hg clones for upstream pkgs.
  17. @lusid2029: usually it's ground beef and/or sausage "stretched" with egg, breadcrumbs, oats, diced onion, & other cheap filler, then baked.
  18. Okay...*now* I get to feel like a home owner -- there's a steady stream water leaking up from under my yard and into the street.
