  1. On phone with idiots from AT&T Universal Card "customer service". A 2+decade customer, now being treated like dirt - no, make that worse.
  2. Tonight's earworm: "Brandy" by Looking Glass. I can feel the brain cells dying. One. By. One.
  3. A new phrase enters the political swamp - "Cash for Cloture" (and it's our cash too!): http://bit.ly/79N6aY
  4. Duncan's watching a movie on a kid's channel. One of the characters is using my (current) cell phone. Must be an OLD movie.
  5. Good 33-mile ride this AM w/club - now to plow thru hundreds of pix & movies from yesterday's mayhem, & start the end-of-year backup
  6. @RayLaHood There's a lot in Cities4Cycling that's ready to go, but a lot needs more research. Talk to your folks in FHWA/Ops/MUTCD 4 details
  7. @T4America Not a good article - overlooks many of the issues & concerns re the treatments pushed by C4C.
  8. @route66news @ScriptPhD Great pictures in Mahar's book, but a one-word review of the text: "Overanalyzed!"
  9. The dragon has been slain & gutted, the tracks have been erected, and "Please stand clear of the doors" again echoes around the Tree of Yule
  10. Enlisting my son's help in constructing the Christmas Tree Monorail (when he's finished riding his hobby horse to slay the dragon, that is)
  11. went from the #bikecommute right into a meeting - other than bumpy streets & a nonresponsive signal, not a bad ride
  12. Need to sleep. Catching up on http://thereifixedit.com and http://thatwillbuffout.com instead.
  13. Not a bad afternoon after a busy morning - #bikecommute to meeting in Scottsdale, then a cruise home into the sunset - 44 miles total
  14. Very good #bikecommute to work, with the new MUTCD in back of mind - even had some positive position-by-destination-induced negotiation
  15. @BicycleStyle but once it gets into the MUTCD & AASHTO Guide, it's likely to be there forever & used across US. High bar, but high results.
  16. but remember that states have up to 2 years to adopt the new MUTCD, so it may be a while depending on each state
  17. FYI: this means that after many years of work, shared lane markings & the BikesMayUseFullLane sign (& more) are now IN the Federal MUTCD
  18. New MUTCD website seems to be running now: http://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/htm/2009/html_index.htm
  19. Looks like the MUTCD website is still updating (says the new Manual is there, but just a buncha broken links for now). More analysis later.
  20. The MUTCD Final Rule is out - http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2009/pdf/E9-28322.pdf
