  1. Finalized college registration today. History, Biology, Speech Writing, and Intermediate Composition.
  2. Wrote Chapter Twenty-Nine. I like this one much. Children, fantasy, ice cream, occupational failure, selling-out, & fatherhood all in one.
  3. I've been sent over 12,000 email scams and counting: http://twitpic.com/tpcwk
  4. No new chapter. Decided to work over and detail chapters 27 and 28 a little more. Book has now reached the healthy size of 90,000 words.
  5. What would Elijah Brubaker do?
  6. New post up at my site with some much-needed updates. It's been awhile, but here's what I'm up to: http://tinyurl.com/ye36eqz
  7. Chapter Twenty-Eight written. Takes place over a Christmas season, so I was able to draw from the actual world around me a bit. Felt nice.
  8. A lot of nightmares lately. Too many. Awful ones. Third night in a row to jolt awake and be forced to pace awhile, trying to calm down.
  9. Contratulations to Andrew David King on his placing with the FIRE's Freedom in Academia Essay Contest. Well deserved.
  10. @EKSwitaj : Apparently it's called Prison Break. Here's the character: http://tinyurl.com/y85k7zn
  11. I'm tired of Twitter folk who keep following me because my last name is similar to the name of a character on some TV show I've never seen.
  12. Being an elf today. Securing the joys of productive generosity and kicking the holiday's gift-giving ass. I will sneak. I will creep.
  13. Tired.
  14. Chapter Twenty-Seven written. It's difficult not to get lost in the busy, busy world in this book. So much going on, so much en route...
  15. Cool. Chapter Twenty-Five finished. About 81,000 words along. It's getting pretty dour in there. Protagonist is miserable.
  16. Chapter Twenty-Four written. Sad things are afoot for our unexpecting protagonist.
  17. I have the greatest friends ever. Yes.
  18. Wrote Chapter Twenty-Three out. I had to do quite a bit of research first, involving Jewish funerals in the early 1960's.
  19. Time to take Painter to school. Today promises very little; I'll need to work hard to get much out of it beyond a usual, domestic schedule.
  20. Spent the working day outlining rest of book in detail. 17 paragraphs later and I've got it all planned out: A total of 40 chapters.
