  1. New Simon's Cat! http://digs.by/109R ("Oooh," says @frayer, "a snowball in the butt can't be nice.")
  2. I seem to be quite tipsy: the only way to be if you're being taken to see "Legally Blonde The Musical" (yes, such a thing exists).
  3. Funeral done. Clearing out flat done. Three bags of diaries, photos and wartime items: job for Christmas. Shattered now and very hungry.
  4. There's something about moving out of the flat I've lived in for most of my 20s that makes me want to play "These Are the Days of Our Lives"
  5. I have decided to embrace my new sleep pattern: just on way home from work, and mornings only now happen with copious caffeine, but still.
  6. The 18:12 train to Bedford is on the other platform. I really want to get on board and start making overtures.
  7. Someone's television is really loud in my flat. No idea whose though - none of my neighbours seem to be awake. *Really* annoying.
  8. Comment in code of Parliament website page: "this was done with CSS, but Mozilla seems to have given up fixing Firefox's many, many bugs".
  9. All of that will have made sense to only about three people reading this, and I fully expect one (hi, @cymruangel) to disagree on Blaenwern!
  10. Otherwise, consensus for other hymn is "King of Love" to Dominus Regit me. Better than flaming St Columba that I had to suffer at school.
  11. Relatives want "Love Divine". Have insisted on Stainer tune (good Oxford man!) not Blaenwern (wide vocal range, bad for small congregation).
  12. Now choosing funeral hymns, which is a far happier task for a hymn tune nerd like me. Suspect the organist will hate me, though.
  13. Recent hiatus due to grandmother in hospital. Finally passed away this morning at age 92: good on balance, as she was very ill at the end.
  14. Voir le soleil quand la nuit nous accable / Oh, pour un jour, croire au Dieu, croire aux fables.
  15. Not likely to be online much in the next while: got some family business to attend to. E-mail at the usual address will find me nonetheless.
  16. Quizzion accomplished: went well, no errors, rowdy crowd, but they liked the new format. Thank goodness that's done.
  17. Finally exchanged on the house move. Hallelujah.
  18. As usual, question writing is being finished at the last minute. In the name of all that is good and true, why do I do this every time?
  19. Cheers Co-op: last thing I needed right now was maudlin Christmas music.
  20. Rollercoaster 24 hours: quiz joy, some very bad family news, then some marvellous (but confidential) quiz news. Enough now, please.
