  1. Elliott heard a lawnmower start up outside and said "DADA!" We've certainly fallen into our gender-specific rolls.
  2. It seems that the smarter Elliott gets the dumber Ollie is becoming.
  3. Can't seem to unglue myself from my chair. I'm exhausted!
  4. LONG day of country fair fun: rain, thunder, lightning, mud, and all.
  5. Our apple trees are overflowing with apples that are too tart to eat by themselves! Any recipe ideas?
  6. Yet another day of fun: Tillamook forestry center, toddler "hike", saw a parrot eat ice cream while we ate ice cream. I love summer!
  7. Long day of going to Hanna Andersson, a duck pond, athletic store, and lavender gardens. Now relaxing in the country with a glass of wine.
  8. Today Ell added three new words to his vocab: cheese, bear, and bee. He seriously has been adding so many words lately!
  9. Jake (our cat) fell asleep on a candle and now smells really nice.
  10. Discovered a huge box of my favorite clothes that I put in the basement when I was pregnant almost two years ago. New wardrobe for me!
  11. After a month of Elliott only being able to nap on my lap my new solution worked! He's now in his crib. I love the feeling of success.
  12. Awesome. Elliott is kicking a ball around our house and saying "kick." FIFA watch out!
  13. An afternoon BY MYSELF!!!
  14. Couldn't see the fireworks, most of our time was spent setting up and taking down, and the stairs claimed its first head gashing casualty.
  15. It turns out our plan of camping on the roof Panic and watching the fireworks was more work than it was worth.
  16. Forget expensive and difficult travel, just eat Best Baguette on the corner of 82nd and Powell and watch the cultures mashing on the street.
  17. I don't think yesterday could have been more summer: made jam, ran through sprinkler, ate popsicles, burgers for dinner.
  18. Great article on our culture of over-parenting: http://is.gd/1jf7y
  19. It is as I had thought: holding your son down to have blood drawn is actually more horrible than holding him down for immunizations.
  20. @juliaklaus you're so Lisa Simpson! Glad to hear you're digging school!
