  1. @beb0s But ptrdiff_t is only defined for two pointers to elements of the same array, so I still don't think your assertion works in general.
  2. RT @dagda1: It will always be tempting to make things more interesting by using a new framework or a new tool. Not sure if this can be ...
  3. Uhhh... OK. Cool. Why not? RT @lobrien: Turing Machine made from Legos: http://bit.ly/oJoO4
  4. When replacing legacy code, replicating the old behaviour is often more important than producing the "correct" behaviour.
  5. A nice way to generate test data: "capture what production code does, and regress against that once it looks good" http://bit.ly/8KnVmj
  6. @GlennHalstead Very nice. My first computer was the US equivalent -- TRS-80 Color Computer (which had the same CPU).
  7. @Ben_Hall @serialseb is right. But you knew he would say that, didn't you?
  8. @christensena TDD results more regression tests. I think this is important, and not to be dismissed. I'm done now. Thanks for the feedback.
  9. @christensena I could add Red-Green-Refactor to the list, but to me it's just a super-disciplined application of YAGNI....
  10. @christensena TDD = good tests + YAGNI + DRY. (and there's a lot to learn about all 3) Do you think I'm missing any big pieces here?
  11. If your TDD style doesn't leave you with a good set of regression tests when you're done, I think you're doing it wrong.
  12. . @christensena ...in unit tests. I'm just saying this is TESTING. It's even BETTER testing than writing tests as an afterthought.
  13. . @christensena I'm agreeing with TDD/BDD approach. In particular, I agree that good designs flow out of specifying system behaviour ...
  14. My thought is that people who do TDD right are in fact testing as they go. Thus my frustration with the idea that "it's not about testing".
  15. . @christensena If your design technique ignores correct behaviour (i.e "testing"), I would say you're doing something fundamentally wrong.
  16. . @christensena If the design doesn't account for the correct behaviour of the system, it's not a good design...
  17. I'm getting tired of the "TDD isn't about testing" mantra. If TDD isn't about testing, when do you write tests?
  18. @selsley Lots of ways to use twitter. I don't use it for "work". But I do use it to keep up with what others in my profession are up to.
  19. RT @dagda1: .NET binaries built daily via hornget http://bit.ly/wH63y. Please retweet
