  1. Mary and Max: Fantastic, funny stop-motion animation - a great way to end my #EIFF.
  2. (Content in its supremacy, child promptly falls asleep.)
  3. Have decided my will is weaker than that of screaming child at next table, and am leaving Filmhouse for last time this #EIFF.
  4. Bloody Mama: Shelley Winters rocks. (She's so devoted to her boys)
  5. Adventureland: Likable low-key dramedy with slightly unnecessary 80s nostalgia.
  6. Birdwatchers: Fascinating, unsentimental study of two cultures in conflict.
  7. The St. Valentine's Day Massacre: Cracking old-school gangster movie. Jason Robards going through scenery like popcorn.
  8. "I'm afraid of what might happen if I stop twittering" http://bit.ly/rYPSj
  9. The Hurt Locker: Decent actioner, but chooses easy beats without pushing the harder questions.
  10. The Missing Person: Deadpan noir wrapped around post-9/11 dislocation.
  11. I am Without Internet, as the Filmhouse's wi-fi is rejecting me :(
  12. Breathless: Good but somewhat overstated reflection on the cycle of violence.
  13. Roger Corman: Is the man. :)
  14. Five Day Features: Shane Meadows & producer v. entertaining on lo-to-no budget filmmaking.
  15. It's more a smirr (smurr? Autocomplete isn't helping here) than a mist. Drifting strangely & possibly toxic.
  16. Strange mist over Edinburgh, where two hours ago it was clear. Very RLS.
  17. Members of the Funeral: Bizarrely sweet Korean film.
  18. And now I'm in the Princes St. Gardens, taking photos of the castle like a complete tourist.
  19. Goodbye, How are you?: Curious, but not entirely successful.
  20. Masque of the Red Death: "It's time for a new dance..."
