  14. Trader tip part 3: in registered accounts, you can buy calls, puts and do covered calls. Uncovered puts, calls or spreads are not possible.
  15. Trader tip part 2: A covered put is the selling of a put option while being short an equivalent amount in the underlying security.
  16. Trader tip: A covered call is when you have sold a call and own the equivalent amount in the underlying security.
  17. Margin tip 2: Volatile ETFS like HNU.TO, FAZ, FAS have 50% margin.
  18. Margin tip: If a security has 50% margin look at your maintenance excess and multiply it by 2 to see how much you can afford to purchase.
  19. @jgrew030 All dividends earned on positions are yours, even if shares are bought on margin. If reinvested (ie. DRIP), they're still yours.
  20. @jgrew030 You are correct; dividends are not in the platform. Go to Penson, under cash history, you can see dividends received.
