  1. The best thing about tonight's fireworks? They didn't play that Neil Diamond song.
  2. Watched some fireworks. (Sam was less afraid than last year.) Ate some cupcakes & ice cream. Rebooted a build machine. Is it bedtime yet?
  3. @cpalmer74 Mentioning Python apparently got me a follow from @MuktoSoftware (won't they be disappointed...).
  4. @bradrubin Python has notational tidiness: Perl, PowerShell, Ruby, etc., all tend to look like line noise. Python code looks like code.
  5. Newly-endumpster'd: Windows 95 / 98 / 2000; Encarta 2002; various Axim X30 crapware; etc., etc. (Belated spring-cleaning.)
  6. Twitter searchbait: cenotaph ossifrage potrzebie.
  7. Seems like whenever I use an uncommon word on Twitter, I get a few more followers.
  8. @firekiller Had a sudden attack of bravery & committed it today. Seems to be working, too.
  9. Hm...commit my new code, or wait until Monday? I'm pretty sure it works, but if it doesn't...goodbye, nightly build. What to do, what to do.
  10. Happy birthday, Clementine! (Bichon is French for 'not a poodle'.)
  11. Party is over. Guests have gone, house is tidied, kids are asleep. Neighbors are shooting off bottle rockets (but not, one hopes, fingers).
  12. Women are in the kitchen. Men are in the living room. Children are running around screaming. How traditional of us all.
  13. Waiting for the party to start. Be a shame if nobody showed up & I had to eat all those cupcakes myself....
  14. Sam says the computer is down. Gee, Sam, mine's working just fine....
  15. Fireworks postponed until Sunday.
  16. Cupcakes are in the oven. Jennifer, Jake & Sam are loading the ice cream maker.
  17. Slowly coming to realize that there were things I should have been doing for the last two hours, instead of messing about on the computer.
  18. Kids are in bed. Jake might be sleeping. Sam definitely is not.
  19. Second try at gps-enabled lawn mowing, this time sampling at 1pt/5sec. More points, still doesn't look much like the pattern I walked.
  20. My CompuServe ID was 71150,1216. My PLATO account was rice/pasrf.
