  1. Enjoying the CFHA Conference and the beautiful San Diego weather. This is the place to be if you are in integrated behavioral health.
  2. Hmm, how to deal with the phenomenon of Pts not returning when they get better - which means your outcome data is skewed.
  3. One of the challenges of BHC work is the volume which leads to lots of notes and extra work. At 8 min per SOAP note, 16 patients= 2+hrs.
  4. Check this great article about BHCs in Philly: http://bit.ly/1NtUpc
  5. Visiting a CHC in St. Louis that has a great start on integrating care.
  6. When training interns focus not only on content but critical, efficient, integrative thinking skills using structured verbal reporting.
  7. @Sunrise959 not sure what you mean about which response.I thought I sent a response saying that indeed we do check TSH whenever we see PTs.
  8. Enough of the lies about health insurance reform. Let's set the record straight: http://bit.ly/eM0jS
  9. Psychopharm tip of the day: ask PTs carefully what intended effects they want from meds and use those to guide med recs to PCPs.
  10. Everytime. That's the beauty of working in primary care- we can get this done right away. Usually we start SSRIs imm. since these are rare.
  11. PCPs referred 2 OCD cases, 1 a child. Protocol for a first consult usually includes med education, relaxation training, response prevention.
  12. Check this excellent video from a recent APA conference (PCBH model)Extreme integration http://www.performedia.com/...
  13. Developing a registry and a protocol for it's use in population based and individal patient care can be difficult but it's worth it.
  14. P.S. I know of 5 open positions in integrated care (psychol. or LCSW) in NH, PA, MO.
  15. We will be interviewed at NCSPP conference tomorrow on workforce development issues. Looking forward to schools training integ. care psychs.
  16. Orienting post-docs today... First-day chaos as usual. :)
  17. Slow morning but saw 4 patients: depression, bipolar, substance abuse, and smoking cessation. Also working on our registry.
  18. Here's our daily protocol: get peds screeners ready for well child checks, check PCP appts for smokers, review BH appts, get visible.
  19. Saw 6 patients in the AM: depression - 2, bipolar-2, schizoaffective-1, smoke cessation-1. Five were warm handoffs.
  20. An all too common scenario today- the PT in primary care who really needs hospitalization but b/c of lack of insurance is turned away. Uggh!
