  1. @pixi_stix Freelance Drupal devs (including me) can be found in the Seattle Drupal User Group http://groups.drupal.org/seattle
  2. Top 10 contributors to Drupal 7 list (jhodgdon=me)! http://growingventuresolutions.com/blog/contributors-drupal-7-x-end-code-freeze-edition
  3. @mikef206 I have a Drupal vs. WordPress article that might help http://poplarware.com/drupalwordpress.html; Joomla is a non-starter for me.
  4. @drutherford We have a local Drupal user group; meeting this Thursday. groups.drupal.org/seattle
  5. @jasonp107 Look again. Mass Contact can send messages to smaller groups, and could probably be modified to do some kind of mail merge.
  6. @jasonp107 Actually, there is a Drupal module that emails all registered users - Mass Contact http://drupal.org/project/mass_contact
  7. @katewalling http://poplarware.com/experience.html has descriptions of projects. Email me (see contact page) if you need more info.
  8. @katewalling Seattle Drupal Group has list of experts (groups.drupal.org/seattle) -- includes my company (http://poplarware.com) and others
  9. @scarequotes Yes, delete all the tables. When you go to your site's home page, it should run the installer again, which will make tables.
  10. @scarequotes If you also want to delete your categories, tags, pages, etc. just wipe out the database and run the install script again.
  11. @Wygle You might be interested in the Seattle WordPress developers group: http://groups.google.com/group/seattle-wp-dev
  12. @culturalsavage Looks like FeedWordPress is up to date: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/feedwordpress/ (for continuous RSS feeds)
  13. @Wygle If you want to feed continously, you need a plugin, like FeedWordPress (haven't used it in quite a while, but it used to work OK).
  14. @Wygle What @culturalsavage suggested only does a one-time import from RSS feed into WordPress - doesn't follow an RSS feed continuously.
  15. @lucid5241 We have a WordPress developers group at http://groups.google.com/group/seattle-wp-dev - lots of folks familiar with WP, incl. me
  16. @SmokeLong I'm all for self-coding when no plugin is available, but why duplicate when a good plugin already exists?
  17. Anyone in Seattle have Teach Yourself German with CDs? One of my CDs is damaged, and McGraw Hill is no help.
  18. @SmokeLong Custom permissions in WP - there's a great plugin called Role Manager for that. Signin: there must be an OpenID plugin too?
  19. @SmokeLong Sure, I'll bite -- I've dug into the MySQL guts of WordPress. Do you have a specific question?
  20. @claireybell Local (Seattle) Drupal group: http://groups.drupal.org/seattle - lots of local folks with Drupal experience
