  1. Finally got ahold of Gustav Holst's "The Planets" suite, after about five years of less-than-diligent searching. Good stuff.
  2. Sixteen days gone and only six college letters arrived in that time. It's slowing down now that I've heard from every school in the country.
  3. day 16: HOME
  4. day 15: Family reunion in Casper, Wyoming.
  5. I'm a Continental Breakfast professional now!
  6. day 14: "Wall Drug" in Wall, SD (pathetic), Mt. Rushmore (pretty cool) and Wind Cave National Park cave tour (awesome).
  7. Now when you dance with the zombies, Mr. Jackson, you really WILL be a zombie! Goodbye, King of Pop.
  8. day 13: drove ten hours across Iowa and South Dakota, only stopping for the "Corn Palace" in Mitchell, SD, which was totally pathetic.
  9. day 12 (that's today - now current): hanging around in Keokuk, Iowa on the banks of the Mississippi and I'm dying from the humidity and heat
  10. day 11: Met up with Grandpa and his red 2003 Corvette (mid-life crisis came 20 years late for him)...
  11. day 10: drove all the way to Cleveland and then hit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which was pretty cool but not worth seeing again.
  12. day 9: more hanging out at uncle's house.
  13. day 8: We chilled all day at my uncle's Faculty-In-Residence house and at the student center on Cornell campus (he's a microbiologist there)
  14. Niagra falls was cool but a little bit underewhelming, to tell the truth.
  15. day 7: Drove the rest of the way across Ohio and now we're on our way into New York for Niagra Falls.
  16. day 6: Drove across Indiana and Ohio and that's about it.
  17. day 5: Driving across Illinois all day, although we did hit up the St. Louis zoo for awhile...
  18. day 4: Driving across Missouri and the St. Louis Gateway Arch, which was awesome. Also saw (and killed) my first lightning bug ever.
  19. Oh, the record was on F-Zero: Maximum Velocity for Gameboy Advance. I set that record like, years ago.
  20. Just beat my long-standing championship record of 1'42"26 by 6/100's of a second. Practiced all day in the car.
