  10. Small Colleges: Use the Talent Pool on your campus, get grassroots interest going, attend POD, AAC&U., etc., provide food! #pod09
  11. Small Colleges: create an advisory board, make your center a place of excellence, start with with 1 program and do it well... #pod09
  12. Small Colleges: if you do only 1 thing, start of program/learning community for new faculty that hopefully lasts through the 1st yr #pod09

  14. Howe: Today's kids are over-tested and under-assessed (according to someone Howe referenced). #pod09
  15. Howe: expect big changes in grad schools. Millennials want to be in 2-3 yrs & out. Make tasks achievable. Stress overall mastery. #pod09
  16. Howe: this is a pressured generation (Mill). Want a secure position where they'll be accepted from the very beginning. #pod09
  17. Howe: Use rituals to celebrate collective progress. Assume need to share & find answers. See faculty as mentors / exemplar. #pod09
  18. Howe: Conventional generation: define college as life-long learning. Stress a single core curriculum - empowered by commonalities. #pod09
  19. Howe: Mill - conventional life goals. They get along with parents. 25-30% overlap in iTunes music (parent/child). #pod09
