  1. @TamelaRich If you want you can DM me your email and I will send them to you. I also may do a blog post on these if you can wait.
  2. @TamelaRich I got three recipes from my mom that originated from my great Aunt. I have limited computer access now. Too long for Tweets.
  3. @ali_cali I think you may have too much nitrogen. Get a fert for blooming. High in p and k.
  4. @ali_cali may b too much nitrogen. Get a fert for flowers that helps blooming. How long have they been growing? One plant or more?
  5. P@janethebuilder wow it is not that easy to get cukes 2 transplant. I'm from south dakota orginally. So remember all 2 well the short season
  6. @cafecitobogota not since that story with the ginger bread man have there been so many edible rooftops. I'm thrilled 2 hear about ur project
  7. @janethebuilder I travel to the east coast JUST to enjoy the fall on the upper east coast.
  8. @Pookandgrace For me there is no getting warmer. We have few days of mid 70s or 80s and fall can be sunny but now mainly fog. Still jealous?
  9. @jeana_with_a_j Do some googling of 'tomato bottom rot' also look at images to confirm it and see if there is a remedy or two you like.
  10. @jeana_with_a_j It could be just too much nitrogen or not enough calcium. Fruit affected is a lost cause, but you can 'sometimes' correct.
  11. One thing about growing year round is you R always starting seeds for something. Lettuce is pretty much year round here. About 2 start more
  12. @KristinEarhart You can see for the pic that the 1 on left is starting to look bad. Leafs curling. But I know its age. It is almost ready.
  13. @KristinEarhart Just realized I have 2 spuds next to each other. One is about ready for harvest. http://twitpic.com/8wbea
  14. @TamelaRich I wish I still had 1 of my mom's relish recipes. It was delish. I will see if she remembers.... many many many years ago ;(
  15. @KristinEarhart If you can't wait. you can dig next to plant (1 ft away) and see if you can steal a nice spud or two from the side.
  16. @KristinEarhart Harvest potatoes 2 weeks after it blooms or when it starts to die. I just wait until start to turn light green or yellow.
  17. @TamelaRich I used to do more preserving peppers as a youth. Relishes, some drying, never pickling. Sorry.
  18. @TamelaRich I wish I could grow them here. I have red bell pepper plants that are 1.5 years old in a cold frame. So I don't get to pickle em
  19. @softletters Wood ash is highly alkaline. I wouldn't add much to compost. It is better IF you had acidic soil to use in soil. Test b4 using!
  20. @softletters dry leaves are common to save up in fall and use throughout the year. I keep a few bags next to bin or by the side of house.
