  1. @comthre3 Are you sure it's not just because of the 3.0 update or any of the apps you installed?
  2. @YourCunt Activation not the same as an unlock. You have an activation problem. Sorry, but the piece of crap you're holding is damn complex.
  3. @YourCunt Shouldn't happen with a 3G since it's wildcardactivated, but if it does, you need to hacktivate. Do redsn0w with unofficial sim in
  4. ultrasn0w works on hacktivated AND legit, purplesn0w only works on legit @canyewtell
  5. My rec. to @geohot would be to not do the unmap thing for RC3; it's good practice to execute the exploit as little as poss; 8KB is nothing
  6. At least on legitimately activated phones. If you hacktivate (as most people who need an unlock) then you can ONLY use ultrasn0w.
  7. I would say us 0.9 is the best right now, at least until @geohot has an RC3 that uses malloc, then there won't be a diff. @justinj16
  8. Around 16 KBs of memory, I believe, but it doesn't consume CPU time at all. @jblparisi
  9. @geohot On the malloc: Seriously. :) Also, I'm concerned about what happens if someone reinserts their SIM.
  10. @geohot You still mangle 8KB of memory though and I think there were definitely xrefs into that range...
  11. @geohot Finally got around to reading your new payload. 4KB pages, it looks like! Plus unmapping after the unlock runs.
  12. @geohot MMU, I mean. Crap.
  13. @geohot We don't use the MIU trick; You can't use it properly without redoing all of it to use 4KB pages, and that's overkill. No benefits.
  14. @jblparisi Check our latest blog post for more technical information... purplesn0w (RC1, at least) is not really clean at all.
  15. @dshears YouTube ought to work if the phone was activated in that manner.
  16. @codeisart94 Err, what was the question?
  17. @galiaxy Welcome!
  18. @geohot By racing, I mean if we don't do the "unlock" before CC polls for lock status, then we have to do ugly things like stk-refresh
  19. @geohot It really can't be SSH, btw. It's a launchd daemon and launchd is responsible for running it on a per-connection basis.
  20. @geohot I think some misbehaving processes are gobbling up CPU time; maybe they're backgrounded but keep spinning.
