  1. @srstrong Oh, I almost forgot about my tweet from a few hours ago :) COOL!
  2. Still working on refactoring the refactoring course slides + the code examples. It's amazing how a couple of 100 line programs explain itall
  3. @srstrong Awesome. What's the occasion? :P
  4. Still looking for local devs in Manila who are interested in participating in our Refactoring Course Beta run. RT me if interested
  5. @DaveTheNinja Definitely. Thanks dude :)
  6. Time for some Indian food. Nothing will wake you up faster than running your taste buds through Indian spices
  7. @DaveTheNinja Not yet. Maybe in about 12 months or so. There's still a lot to do here in Manila
  8. @DaveTheNinja Btw how's the job market in HK? Is the competition pretty tight for devs with >8 years experience?
  9. The 1-min .NET programmer test: "There are 3 types in .NET - Value, Reference Types, & String. " If they do not get it, don't hire them :)
  10. @DaveTheNinja Wow. That's nuts
  11. Folks: Code never lies, and if you have a dev who claims ten years of experience but codes like a junior, he is obviously lying
  12. @DaveTheNinja ..we gave him the written .NET exam and he couldn't explain what reflection was and he got none of the questions right #fail
  13. @DaveTheNinja I ran into the same situation here at work with one of the "senior" devs we were interviewing. He claimed 10yrs, but...
  14. @DaveTheNinja 10 years of experiences and he barely knew interfaces? What was the other 9 years for? Drinking coffee? :P
  15. @DaveTheNinja Ahh--perhaps you meant the distinction between those who just write code versus those who actually solve problems
  16. Perhaps the distinction between "Software Engineer" and "Programmer" is about as meaningful as DIsney's "Animator" vs "Imagineer"
  17. @DaveTheNinja Is there a distinction between programmers vs engineers? I just thought it was an HR thing
  18. Believe it or not, I am utterly impressed with FizzBuzz. That little code snippet covers almost half the code smells in my refactoring demo!
  19. @DaveTheNinja Awesome. :) It'd be nice to hang out with a few dot net tweeps on this side of the world. I'll definitely let you know
  20. @DaveTheNinja We're in the same time zone
