Walking the dogs this morning there are two eagles perched on the edge of the nest. They are reluctant to take wing and I get very close.

I am bud-capping white pines to keep the deer from nipping the shoots. Deer are stoners wandering through a store eating anything, swine.

Fox sparrows, Am. tree sparrows, and juncos rake and scrape the yard to find the white millet we have put out for them. Rain dampens them.
