  1. Seeing my sister's opening at the Mortal Plush show, Art Whino outside DC. Watch for photos... and I hear a penguin costume is expected.
  2. @boomtopper Nope, you only see JavaScript on Android in its browser. Although Chrome's V8 is actually compiling JS to bytecode, too.
  3. @boomtopper But yes, Google uses native code for Android audio APIs and JET. It'd be great for devs to be able to add their own native audio
  4. @boomtopper Note: Android compiles to Dalvik bytecode; not interpreted. + desktop Java can do audio with an RT kernel and RT garbage coll.
  5. @boomtopper I am concerned about Google's direction. I want to believe they're committed to native and even Dalvik/Java client development.
  6. @boomtopper I think we will see native audio library support on Android; Google's just taking their time. Native libs in 2.0, but no audio.
  7. @boomtopper There are almost certainly more Androids coming with keyboards -- Moto, perhaps. We just haven't seen them yet.
  8. @theaudiogeek My fave x-platform theme for #Firefox 3.5 is currently http://bit.ly/B8ZX0 - OS neutral take on the FF look.
  9. CDMo: OSC means never having to say "can't." Free, downloadable tools for Modul8 + TouchOSC, Resolume 3 + Max. http://bit.ly/WLBje
  10. @chinowski Great work! Posting now...
  11. @chaircrusher @GarethDEdwards @pedroangelo I'm switching to LTS release Xubuntu 8.04 - xfce is lighter, lots of things backported to LTS.
  12. Linux dilemma: do I live with Ubuntu 9.04 generic (non-realtime), revert to 8.04.2 LTS with realtime, or go some other route?
  13. Okay, inbox. You and I are going to grapple, real-time, right now. Yeah, I already feel like I run the Google OS.
  14. RT @AbletonInc: Have you ever wondered where you can find an # Ableton Cert.Trainer in your area? Try here - http://bit.ly/SJ01g
  15. #HandmadeMusic artists announced - check out some inspiring projects, with videos, including the brilliant CrudBox. http://bit.ly/MkXH4
  16. @abacusfinch Interesting. I have to check out Debian again; been more on the Ubuntu side.
  17. @boomtopper I hope that Google will find a way to combine ChromeOS and Android. But they seem unconvinced of the need for non-Web apps.
  18. @boomtopper The HTC Hero looks fantastic. Faster, better battery life than my G1. But I'd hold out for a model with a keyboard.
  19. @abacusfinch People have high hopes for #ChromeOS? Anyway, Ubuntu works really, really nicely, thanks very much. People like apps. ;)
  20. @boomtopper I love my Android G1. So why wouldn't Google apply lessons from process mgmt, threading, Java (soon native) dev, UI to ChromeOS?
