  1. Wow...think I know why music vid for Filthy/Gorgeous by Scissor Sisters never saw TV play. Definitely NSFW...or anywhere. LOL
  2. Apple Magic Mouse is really freaking cool. Noticing weird little hiccups though. Acts sluggish for a bit, then catches up. Odd.
  3. Another fire alarm pulled at my apartment. Yay.
  4. Just bought a magic mouse and now going to see twilight with friends. I am apparently a 13 year old girl now.
  5. Wow....never realized just how sexy the unibody MacBook Pros were. I'm in LOVE! And seamless transition! Up and running already! *SWOON*
  6. Had to sell a Dell server and my soul to get it this soon, but the new laptop is just in time. This poor machine is dying!
  7. My new Macbook Pro is arriving tomorrow! First order of business, get all my data off the Crashintosh and onto the new hotnesss.
  8. @joshuabaer Never tried that phone. I used to use a Cisco 7960 and loved it. Not sexy, just reliable. Needs a separate PBX though..
  9. My MacBook Pro is now a Crashintosh. Thought it was software related, but boot is now giving weird device errors randomly. Yikes!
  10. @secondfret Means "overheard" I believe.
  11. More embarrassing is that Capital Metro is a simpler system than Dallas' with 12 trips/direction a day on existing shared lines.
  12. Capital Metrofail strikes again. Still no opening date. I am beginning to appreciate/miss Dallas' rails system all the more.
  13. Resque from github. Lets you build persistent task queues in Ruby and can use your Rails environment to boot. http://bit.ly/i41dw
  14. I love you Rackspace, but your DFW DC has done horrors for your image. Outages regularly since 2007 are not good.
  15. Just FYI, Slicehost customers, you can get slices in the old St Louis datacenters if you ask. I did. Better than the Ol' Unreliable DFW1
  16. I remember when RS DFW DC1 first opened, we got five servers there. Then a car crashed into the power supply. Redundant system didn't work.
  17. The DFW DataCenter is a constant source of trouble for Rackspace. Another electrical outage this morning. Worrisome. Great company, bad DC.
  18. Anybody know a convenient way to pass messages out of ActiveRecord models? Can't find a convenient method to return explanation of results.
  19. @joshuabaer They actually offer storage at a pretty reasonable costs. So in theory you could just leave everything there until you need it.
  20. @joshuabaer You can, but most of the mail for my (dead) business needs to be forwarded so costs more. Love it for my personal mail though.
